The Design For The People Stay Floor Lamp is a floor lamp designed by Maria Berntsen for the Stay range. It pairs clean Scandinavian lines with purposeful task lighting, finished in a silky matte-black metal that suits living rooms and reading corners alike.

Design highlights include a slender vertical stem on a low-profile circular base, a horizontal cantilevered arm with a swivel pivot, and an asymmetrical oblique-cut conical shade that gives the lamp its distinctive silhouette. The Stay is available in Black.

Careful construction makes the lamp feel taut and refined: the thin stem and weighted base keep the footprint minimal while ensuring stability, and the visible power cable runs discreetly along the support. The swivel mechanism and pivot are engineered for repeatable, smooth adjustment.

The shade is designed to cast light both upwards and downwards thanks to a dual-opening form, and the adjustable arm and head let you position light precisely for reading or focused tasks. This makes the Stay ideal as a sofa-side or armchair reading lamp.
