The Marset Discoco Pendant by Christophe Mathieu is a sculptural pendant ceiling light that works as both a striking object and a functional luminaire. Its tiered arrangement of overlapping discs and a chrome-covered internal sphere create a bold, design-led presence that suits living rooms, dining areas and statement spaces.

The design stacks numerous circular discs in a pinecone-like formation so the piece reads as ceiling art. The exterior faces are finished in matte black while the inner surfaces are a reflective metallic gold; the Discoco is also offered in white, grey, beige and gold-black across five sizes, with an oak wood finish option.

Build quality is evident in the construction: 35 opaque ABS discs attach to a central chrome-covered sphere via slender metal support arms, producing a layered, tactile volume. The assembly emphasises a contrast of finishes that looks considered both lit and unlit.

Light is shielded within the overlapping discs to avoid direct glare while reflections from the chrome sphere and gold interiors create a warm, nuanced glow. The pendant provides direct downward illumination plus a dramatic play of light and shadow for ambient atmosphere.

The fixture hangs from a single slender suspension cable, allowing the pendant to be positioned at varying heights to suit your room layout. The Discoco includes a 2-year defects-only warranty for added reassurance.
