The Foscarini Tartan Pendant is a distinctive ceiling pendant from Foscarini, designed by Ludovica Serafini and Roberto Palomba. Inspired by Scottish tartan, this hand‑blown glass piece brings textured, graphic character to interior ceilings while serving as a source of soft ambient illumination.

Its rounded, oblate spheroid shade has a flattened top and bottom and is detailed with intersecting lines and folds that recreate a tartan weave in glass. The pendant is available in Grey and White finishes, each emphasising the relief pattern and the interplay of light and shadow.

Made using a specialised mouth‑blowing technique, the translucent glass shows a cool, pale grey or misty blue tint and a lively three‑dimensional surface. The textured relief gives the shade personality and depth, celebrating craftsmanship and material expression.

The glass diffuses light across its patterned surface to create graphic highlights and soft shadowing, while a circular opening at the base allows direct downward light. The lamp is suspended by a thin central support wire with a sinuous transparent power cord for a contemporary contrast of forms, ideal for living spaces and interior seating areas.
