The Foscarini Tartan Pendant is a hand‑blown glass pendant designed by Ludovica Serafini and Roberto Palomba for Foscarini. Its flattened, oblate globe and tartan‑inspired surface bring sculptural presence to interior ceilings, offering ambient illumination with a focused downlight through the open base.

The shade features a three‑dimensional grid of raised and recessed lines that mimic Scottish tartan, creating a graphic interplay of light and shadow. The pendant is available in Grey and White and is suspended by a thin electrical cable with a secondary sinuous stainless steel support, giving it a modern, suspended silhouette.

Crafted using a specialised mouth‑blowing technique, the glass achieves a soft, cloth‑like texture while keeping the clarity and solidity of blown glass. Made in Italy, the Tartan reflects Foscarini's focus on artisan technique and material quality.

Light is delivered as a combination of diffused ambient glow through the semi‑translucent glass and more direct downlight via the open bottom aperture. The textured surface fractures the beam into subtle patterns, making it ideal above dining tables, kitchen islands or in living spaces where mood and presence matter.

An LED retrofit E27 bulb is included: 21W, 2700 K, 2581 lm, CRI >80 and dimmable. The fitting has an IP20 rating and is supplied with a 1‑year manufacturer warranty.
