Foscarini Folio Wall Lamp

Foscarini Folio Wall Lamp is a decorative wall lamp designed by Alessandro Vecchiato and Carlo Urbinati for Foscarini. The design reinterprets traditional blown glass in a contemporary way, creating a slim, paper‑like form intended for ambient interior wall lighting.

The lamp features a large, rectangular, hand‑blown cased glass diffuser with a gentle horizontal curve and subtly folded corners that echo a single sheet of paper in motion. The glass is acid‑etched to a frosted white finish and the lighting technology is concealed behind a discreet mounting plate made from epoxy‑coated die‑cast zamak and aluminium.

Crafted with traditional glass‑making techniques, the Folio diffuser uses artisan hot‑bending and acid immersion to achieve its softened, uniform surface. Two small circular fixings secure the glass to the wall plate, keeping the silhouette minimal and the focus on material and form.

The translucent glass softens the light for a glare‑free glow while open top and bottom edges allow indirect illumination to wash the wall both upwards and downwards. The result is reflected, diffused ambient light well suited to hallways, living rooms and refined accenting on interior walls.

The fixture carries an IP20 rating for indoor use and includes a one‑year manufacturer warranty. The slim mounting plate houses the lighting components; installation is simplified by the discreet side fixings but professional installation is recommended for safe electrical connection.
