The Astro Casambi PIR and Ambient Light Sensor is a recessed motion and light-level sensor designed for integration with smart lighting controls. Its low-profile form and architectural finish make it suitable for discreet installation in ceilings and panels.

Design-wise this unit has a circular flush flange and a matte white plastic housing that sits nearly flush with the mounting surface. A translucent, multi-faceted dome (Fresnel) lens provides the motion-detection surface, while two small apertures on the flange house the ambient light sensor and a status indicator.

Built for practical, minimalist installations, the sensor uses spring-loaded metal clips for tool-free recessed mounting and a compact body to stay out of sight. The faceted lens segments infrared signals to improve motion detection across a room.

Performance is tuned for lighting control: the PIR detects movement while the ambient light sensor measures daylight levels to prevent unnecessary switching. It is intended for interior lighting systems and pairs with Casambi-enabled controls for wireless smart operation.

Note that this product has an IP20 rating and is designed for indoor use only. Astro backs the unit with a 3-year warranty to cover manufacturing faults.
